Core and Enriched ESL groups from secondary I to III
Using a communicative and integrative approach to language learning with students of various levels of proficiency.
Team teaching - profile groups and TIC classes
These groups are EESL students enrolled in a language profile which make them benefit from additional scheduled classroom time while progressing in the EESL Québec Education Program. Using Information and Communication Technologies to enhance classroom learning and pique students' interest.
Attendant Measures
These groups benefit from extra scheduled class time with a different teacher than their ESL regular class. It is made to deepen and increase students' level of proficiency in core subjects such as Maths, French and English.
Lunch time Remedial groups
Out of classroom ressource promoting one-on-one or small group tutoring design to cater to students that may need extra help or further explanations on specific subjects.
Progression of learning team member
In line with the new Progression of Learning guidelines produced by the MELS, the ESL department of the Collège is now remodelling its entire processes. We are aiming at creating a comprehensive method that will structure and better define the various stages of learning English as a second language in the Core and the Enriched program, better support the profile and TIC groups and ensure a strong curriculum covering all aspect of the language.
